Robert trained at Drama Studio London. Recent credits include the national tour of Calamity Jane and an Offie Award-nominated performance in Noel Coward’s Home Chat at the Finborough Theatre.
Robert studied Music at The Queen’s College, Oxford on a choral scholarship. As a singer, he has performed in venues across the UK and Europe including Westminster Abbey, where he sang Robert Hartshorne’s official Jubilee anthem ‘Stronger as One’ for The Queen. Additionally, he has recorded at Abbey Road, for BBC Radio 3, and for the soundtrack to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
He is also a highly-experienced pianist and flautist as well as playing accordion, piccolo, ukulele, banjolele, recorders and has recently begun learning the clarinet.
Robert’s recent work as Musical Director includes Illyria Theatre’s national tour of Ruddigore, Much Ado About Nothing at the Rose Playhouse, Bankside, Parkway Dreams for Eastern Angles and the world premier of Nutcracker! the Musical. He performed a number from this production was performed on BBC Radio 2.
Robert Hazle MA (Oxon), PGCE (Bucks) DipActing (DSL) spent four years at Reading Blue Coat School teaching Music, Drama, Performance Studies and English to KS3, GCSE and A level students. He also taught for Eton College on their summer choral course programme.
Robert occasionally teaches at Amanda Redman’s Artists’ Theatre School in Ealing where he specialises in singing and Dramatic Improvisation. He has also led workshops for Infinite Jest Theatre Company during their tour of Twelfth Night and directed and devised the Ash Green Youth Theatre production of As You Like It in 2014.
